Wifi-savvy post
I'm sitting on the porch, in our garden, drinking alone. Wait just one second... ah, there goes the last drop.
The question is... when is the right time for drinking alone?
A few nominees:
- you've accomplished something
- you really need a break from it all. *dangerous one!*
- you have no friends, or rather, you are too neurotic to call up the great friends you do have in the vicinity
There is a qualified justification for everything. Even drinking alone. When would you knock one back solo?

In which I share a story
Overwhelming response. Massive reaction. A flood of comments. Well, whoever said I can't take a hint?
Clearly you guys expect me to peddle more of my writing.
This one is even shorter. 321 words.
I hope you enjoy it.
"
It was the centre-piece. A Renault. The rain assaulted it. It was raining. Yes, wet.
Rain, wet, permeated by sound. Rock music.
The students did not appreciate the irony enough to look up.

Back to writing
As my course in journalism starts to wind up, the prospect of writing again and reading fiction without feeling guilty presents itself.
So, I'll show you what I write about.
For today: Sunday Evening Concert.
648 words. Nice and short.
"
The girl in the back. What do I know? She could be confident, fulfilled, popular. She could be respected. She could be hailed as a genius. She could be. But she’s standing there by those huge drums and every minute or two, she has to rouse herself to thump them for a single beat, muffling before they even get to resonate. And then she goes back to staring at something beyond the conductor, beyond me in my seat in the 10th row.
"
Read the whole thing
you will have to download it at this link. no virii, i promise

Possibly the most important work I've ever done
Does this say something about the degree to which our popular culture has become real, fleshed out and pervasive in our imminent physical surroundings?
Or is Luigidoll just hanging with a horse?
(another mid-exam cop-out well pulled-off)
COMING SOONISH, MAYBE: first chapter of my didn't-finish novel...

Can you handle it? More kids
This one from the beginning of the year when my camera was new to me and I hadn't even heard of the rule of thirds.
Posts come slow in exam time, hang in there!
