Cederberge
Two days in the Ceder Mountains, with Jolani and her dad. Took these snaps, some more next week probably (problem: rest are uploaded somewhere else).
I like the slower, more involved sense of life and community up in the mountains. EVERYONE waves at you and says hello, and no one minds being photographed. Which is not to say I was still too shy to take full advantage.
Ain't it great?
This one specially for Afrikaans literature-phile Arcadia.
I love simple, graphic-like photos like these.
Road sign snaps. An old favourite. Pop some flash in that mother, and you're good and bright to go.
My first UFO. Could you believe it? No (CIA) photo manipulation here, folks.
The Englishman's Grave. Does it hold for every Englishman, though? Even the Chavs?
Flowers are pretty, even to urbanites like me. Who'd have thunk it?
This gives me chills. Wish it was greener, though.
Most obvious and lame comment possible for this pic: lET sLEEPING dOGS lIE. It's true though. Damn thing barked its head off once it awoke to my voyeuristic intrusion.
Nice feller on a bike, in the tiny town of Wupperthal.
Welcome to Eselbank. Population: No Accountants. There is a God.
This blue-eyed girl could stare down a mastodon.
Interesting local flora.
Finishing up for the day at the Oasis guest house and farm in the middle of the Ceder Mountains.
More to follow. Have a good one.
Beautiful, Niel! Stunning!
My only complaint about your new template is that it's hard to read the links on the left as I scroll down and they go up into the bright area.

ek het by die verkeerde post dankie gese vir die leipoldt-foto...dus, weereens, dankie! (ek sou nou vir jou iets van leipoldt quote, maar helaas - daar's bietjie van 'n gat in my opvoeding daar)
